If you have tattoos and you’re worried about landing your next job, fear not! A recent study from St. Andrew University says that in some situations, ink can help you get the job. If you’re looking to be a doctor, a lawyer, or a congressperson, this probably doesn’t apply to you, but for the rest of the world, this is promising!
The good news is that your tattoos can sometimes help “positively convey” a business or organization’s image, especially if you’re interviewing at a company that’s geared toward millennials.
“Body art can be seen as an asset in the labour market,” says Dr. Andrew Timming, author of the study. “As long as an applicant’s tattoos are compatible with the organization’s wider brand personality.”
This study was found to be particularly true for those companies who were looking to appeal to edgier clients and audiences. Go ink!
