Mick Jagger's Longtime Girlfriend Commits Suicide

Tragic news out of New York City: Fashion designer L’Wren Scott was found dead of an apparent suicide in her Manhattan apartment on Monday, March 17, the New York Daily News reported. She was 47.

Police sources tell the “New York Daily News” that Scott – who was also Mick Jagger’s longtime girlfriend – was discovered hanging in her residence at around 10am yesterday. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine cause of death, but a source told the “Daily News” that no suicide note was found, but that foul play is also not suspected. A spokesperson for Jagger, tells “Us Weekly” he is “completely shocked and devastated by the news.” The two had been together for more than a decade. Reps also slammed reports that the couple was on the outs.

Overnight, the band confirmed they have cancelled the start of their Australian tour following Scott’s death. The band was due to open the tour at Perth Arena tonight. The news came via tour promoter Frontier, who announced: “Frontier Touring and Concerts West regret to announce that The Rolling Stones concert in Perth will not be going ahead as scheduled. “No further information is available at this time, ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available.” What that means for the rest of the Australian tour, no one knows. But there are unconfirmed reports that Jagger is already headed back to the States. Online reaction from fans has been overwhelmingly supportive.
