Def Leppard Is Leading the Rock Hall’s ‘Fan Vote’

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has a chart showing the current standings for their ‘Fan Vote,’ which is a mostly meaningless poll they do to pretend everyday people have a say in who they induct.

It’s only been one week since the nominees were announced, and DEF LEPPARD already has more than 162,000 votes.

Stevie Nicks is a very close second with 155,000 votes.  The Cure is next with 96,000, followed by Todd Rundgren (83,000), The Zombies (75,000), and Janet Jackson, who has 66,000 votes.

MC5 is in LAST PLACE with more than 25,000 votes.  Kraftwerk and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan are also struggling with about 29,000 each.

But there’s a LONG way to go.  Fans can vote through December 9th . . . and the top five artists will make up a special fan ballot that’s tallied along with hundreds of other ballots submitted by industry people.  Next year’s induction class will be announced later in December once all the votes are counted.

(The numbers are constantly being updated, so hit up RockHall.com for the latest.  It’s also possible that the ranking could be different.)
