Green Day Say They Sampled the "Total [A-Hole]" Gary Glitter, But They're Donating the Royalties 1

GREEN DAY released a new song called “Oh Yeah!” . . . and it samples Joan Jett’s version of the Gary Glitter song Do You Wanna Touch Me? (Oh Yeah).  And they understand how uncool some people might find that.

So in the description of the song on YouTube, they said, quote, “One of the writers on that song is a total [a-hole] so we’re donating our royalties from this song to IJM and RAINN.”

Glitter was convicted of child sexual abuse, rape, and possession of child porn.

IJM is an international human rights organization and RAINN is the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network.
